I am inspired by my love of and responsibility for the natural environment, the validity of preserving and recycling our built environment and the value of a more simple way of life. My continuing ‘Seaburbia’ series explores the cultural memory and heritage of the beachfront homes of Australia.

Painted in acrylic and oil, patterned, layered, sanded and glazed the works achieve a weather-worn texture recalling the erosion of matter over time and the exquisite residues of nostalgia and decay.Composed from my own photographs, referencing memories and reminiscing retro colour, I am creating stories rather than documentation.

The works are Contemporary Realism punctuated with subtle abstract elements and surprises.
